Lilian Stern has been a senior investor relations counselor in the biotechnology industry for over 20 years, representing more than 300 companies ranging from start-ups to large-cap public companies, in a broad range of development stages and therapeutic areas. As Principal of Stern IR, she works closely with all client teams, providing skilled and knowledgeable IR counsel. Lilian previously worked as a biotechnology sell-side analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse First Boston and was also Vice President of Biotechnology at AgriCapital Corporation. She holds an A.B. in Molecular Biology with distinction from Cornell University and a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School.

Lilian is a member of National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) as well as the New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA). Lilian established the Stern IR Foundation in 2008 to make contributions and otherwise support charities related to autism and other human health issues, as well as organizations that support cultural, educational and religious institutions. She sits on the board of Springboard Enterprises, the premier platform where entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts meet to build great women-led businesses. Lilian is an omnivorous reader, enjoys crossword puzzles and is an avid Schubert fan.

Sarah McCabe is a Vice President at the firm and has been with Stern IR since 2004. She leads several public and private client accounts and has worked alongside many clients through their IPO process. She has executed comprehensive IR programs for her clients and has extensive experience with drug approvals and launches, clinical trial results, corporate re-positioning, M&A and other related events. Sarah's previous work experience includes PR and Event Planning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Sarah enjoys spending time with her boys, summers at the beach in East Hampton, visiting Flywheel classes and eating at Philly’s restaurants.

Beth is a Senior Associate at Stern IR and joined the firm in early 2013. She works with both public and private biotech clients across all stages of development. Her healthcare background has helped her to manage clients through their IR initiatives including new product launch strategies, IPO planning, clinical trial data announcements and scientific presentations. Prior to joining Stern IR, Beth worked for over six years as a healthcare analyst at two independent research firms. She has a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in both Chemistry and Spanish from the University of Rochester. Beth likes to spend as much time as possible in the East Village, Sonoma California and Saratoga Springs NY.

Jesse Baumgartner is a Senior Analyst at Stern IR and joined the firm in early 2012. He leads and assists client accounts in a variety of roles, including strategic messaging and communications, tactical activity planning and broader industry analysis. He has worked with clients across a number of therapeutic areas and helped develop private company IR programs leading to IPOs, as well as public company IR plans and communications around earnings announcements, partnerships and analyst days. Before Stern IR, Jesse spent time as a journalist and also worked in politics – both on individual campaigns and for a communications firm in Seattle, Northwest Passage Consulting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time, Jesse enjoys traveling around the East Coast, training for races with his Brooklyn track club and working his way through U.S. presidential biographies.

Hannah Deresiewicz is an Analyst at Stern IR. She works with both public and private clients, assisting with their overall IR programs by conducting investor outreach and quantitative targeting, executing in-depth research projects and perception studies, and planning roadshows and events. She graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and sociology. Hannah enjoys rooting for the New York Yankees, watching jeopardy, cooking and spending time with her friends.

Stephanie joined Stern IR in 2004 and is a Vice President at the firm. She has worked with companies in a variety of therapeutic areas and development stages. She has experience working with a number of private companies, establishing IR programs and laying the groundwork for successful venture financing rounds and IPOs, and guiding many of these companies as they establish effective public company practices post-IPO. She has also worked with a wide range of public companies, implementing major communications and IR initiatives including analyst days, data announcements and scientific presentations, regulatory updates and recommendations, new product launches and M&A transactions. Her previous work experience includes positions in brand marketing and educational publishing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Stephanie enjoys exploring NYC with her husband, son and spunky Labradoodle, being a foodie, cycling and travel.

Paul Cox is a Senior Associate at Stern IR and joined the firm in 2011. He leads several client accounts and has investor relations experience in a wide range of sectors across the healthcare, industrial biotechnology and technology industries. He has worked with companies across all stages of development, providing advisory for private, pre-IPO and public companies, along with strategic consulting for IPOs, financings, spin-offs, reverse mergers, new product launches and M&A situations. He has managed many investor roadshows, analyst days and investor events for clients based throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Stern IR, Paul held roles at communications firms in New York and Boston. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Paul enjoys creative writing, following European soccer and running with his local track club.

Renee Leck is a Senior Analyst at Stern IR who joined the firm in 2010. She manages and assists public and private client accounts, developing IR plans that encompass strategic messaging and presentation review and tactical coordination of conferences, roadshows, investor and analyst days and special events. Renee also helped lead clients through IPO planning, clinical trial data announcements, drug approvals and commercial product launches and has extensive experience preparing earnings materials and other communications roll-outs. She has worked with clients across a number of therapeutic areas including oncology, rare disease, GI and regenerative medicine. Renee previously worked for the Boston-based non-profit Root Cause. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Tufts University and does freelance writing for various organizations in her spare time. Renee is very attached to her yoga mat, Warby Parker glasses and Sheep’s Meadow reading sessions.

Deanne Tockey is an Analyst at Stern IR and joined the firm in mid-2012. She works with both public and private global clients, assisting with their IR programs through investor outreach, roadshow and event planning and communications releases. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University. Deanne enjoys doing hot yoga, trying new foods, reading history books and Sunday brunches.

Caity Law is an Analyst at Stern IR. She works with public, private and pre-IPO clients, assisting with their IR programs by conducting investor outreach and targeting, as well as drafting press releases and earnings materials. Before Stern IR, Caity held positions in fashion PR and marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism/Media Studies from Rutgers University. Caity is currently working towards her Master’s in Public Relations and Corporate Communications at New York University, but in her free time, she enjoys traveling, discovering hidden speakeasies and finding reasons to wear neon yellow.
