Lilian Stern Principalread more

Lilian Stern has been a senior investor relations counselor in the biotechnology industry for over 20 years, representing more than 300 companies ranging from start-ups to large-cap public companies, in a broad range of development stages and therapeutic areas. As Principal of Stern IR, she works closely with all client teams, providing skilled and knowledgeable IR counsel. Lilian previously worked as a biotechnology sell-side analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse First Boston and was also Vice President of Biotechnology at AgriCapital Corporation. She holds an A.B. in Molecular Biology with distinction from Cornell University and a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School.

Lilian is a member of National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) as well as the New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA). Lilian established the Stern IR Foundation in 2008 to make contributions and otherwise support charities related to autism and other human health issues, as well as organizations that support cultural, educational and religious institutions. She sits on the board of Springboard Enterprises, the premier platform where entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts meet to build great women-led businesses. Lilian is an avid reader and philanthropist and lives on the Upper West Side of New York with her family.

Fun fact: Lilian's father wrote a biography of the psychologist C.G. Jung and she finds the occasion to apply his theory of archetypes to the biotechnology industry!

Stephanie joined Stern IR in 2004 and is a Vice President at the firm. She has worked with companies in a variety of therapeutic areas and development stages. She has experience working with a number of private companies, establishing IR programs and laying the groundwork for successful venture financing rounds and IPOs, as well as late-stage companies, implementing major communications and IR initiatives including analyst days, data announcements and scientific presentations, regulatory updates and recommendations, new product launches and M&A transactions. Her previous work experience includes positions in brand marketing and educational publishing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Stephanie enjoys exploring NYC, being a foodie, cycling and travel.

Fun fact: Music has always been a big part of her life; growing up, she worked at the Ravinia Festival outside of Chicago and also performed at Carnegie Hall.

Sarah is a Vice President at the firm and has been with Stern IR since 2004. She has led several public and private client accounts and has deep experience with IPOs, drug approvals, clinical trial results, etc. She has also forayed Stern IR into the clean tech sector and has developed strong knowledge of this growing and developing industry. Sarah's previous work experience includes PR and event planning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Fun fact: Sarah's great great Grandfather, Paul Lux, founded the Lux Clock Manufacturing Company in 1914 and produced the "Minute Minder" timer which still displays her maiden name

Paul Cox is an Associate at Stern IR and joined the firm in 2011. He has investor relations experience in various clean tech and tech sectors, providing advisory and tactical execution for companies in both pre-IPO and public stages. Paul has organized many investor roadshows throughout North America and Europe and managed analyst days, quarterly earnings announcements, and client participation at investment banking conferences. Prior to joining Stern IR, Paul held roles at IR and PR firms in New York and Boston. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Fun fact: Paul's ancestors came to America on the Mayflower!

Julia Avery is a Senior Analyst at the firm. She joined Stern IR in September 2009 and works with both biotech and clean tech clients. Julia has worked with several clients during their IPOs, helping them transition to public companies. She has also organized numerous roadshows with targeted analysts and investors and prepared earnings releases, data announcements and other significant news items. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University. Julia is a member of New York Cares and is an avid runner.

Fun fact: She finds herself a long way from her hometown of Houston, TX and is always searching the city for barbeque that lives up to her Texas standards.

Rachel Hunter is an Analyst at Stern IR and has been with the firm since early 2010. She works closely with several platform companies and has experience executing numerous IR tactics such as roadshows, investor conferences and presentations, news announcements and analyst days. Previously, she was a Public Relations Assistant at Sesame Workshop, where she supported the launch campaigns for Sesame Street's educational programs and initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, with a minor in Consumer Psychology.

Fun fact: Rachel grew up in New York City and attended high school just four blocks from Stern IR!

Renee Leck Analystread more

Renee Leck is an Analyst at the firm. She has been with Stern IR since 2010 and works with both biotech and clean tech clients. She assists with communications outreach, targeting and other IR tactics for several public and private client accounts. Renee previously worked for the Boston-based non-profit Root Cause. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Tufts University. Renee does freelance writing for various organizations in her spare time, including Cinema Without Borders, a website dedicated to international film, and Embarkability, a consulting practice specializing in the professional advancement of female entrepreneurs.

Fun fact: Renee interned with the U.K Parliament, House of Commons during college.
